The Basic Enterprise Application Realm (BEAR) is bundled with ACHE. Newer releases and BEAR application packages can be found in our BEAR project site (asiacomtek.com/bear-public/).

What is ACHE?

The AsiaComtek Hosting Environment (ACHE) is a lean, trimmed down, version of CentOS that has existed since 2011. It is stable and has very long release cycles not more frequent than once per major release of CentOS. There are very few, if any, point releases. A small deployment footprint is provided though minimal functionality over bare bones installation.

Historically, ACHE has been kept as a private managed internal release for deployment of applications developed by AsiaComtek, and now is publicly available. ACHE lends itself to a small set of use cases.

Use Cases

  • Web server
  • Database server
  • Storage appliance
  • Certificate Authority
  • DNS server
  • Virtualization server (KVM)

What ACHE is not for

  • Desktop environment
  • Java application server
  • C/++ coding environment

Current Release

The current release of ACHE is version ACHE 4 build 008 (September 8th, 2021).

Current and past releases are available for download from the ACHE Download Centre.
